Grace Versus Race

Acts 11:19-26 “Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only. And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord. Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord. Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”

Just like you love people that are like you, love people that are not like you!

Luke 10:25-37 “And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. 28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. 29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? 30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, 34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. 36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? 37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.”

It was the Samaritan who helped the Jews in the Parable. Jesus said to, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

The people were called Christians because of their love. They crossed racial boundaries.

John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

Acts 15 talks about circumcision. This was an instance of Grace versus Race, Jews versus Gentiles.

David was the most prophetic character in the Bible. He was a type and shadow of the Kingdom that was to come—the Kingdom of God. His mighty men weren’t just Jews.

David crossed cultural boundaries. He had a Gittite as a commander in his army. This man was from the same people as Goliath. Uriah, one of David’s mighty men, was a Hitite. He was Haitian. David’s sin was so great because Uriah was a friend. It was adultery and betrayal and murder. It’s possible Bathsheba was also Haitian, black. Her offspring was Solomon. It’s possible Jesus had Haitian blood. There are no color lines in Jesus.

Some people think the idea of slavery came from God as punishment. Every time the Jews went after other gods they were punished and became enslaved. The era of slavery in America has left deep scars in the psyche in both black and white. Only Jesus can give us true equality.

On one hand, you have the Spirit of Jesus that wants to deliver us from hatred and jealousy, and on the other hand, you have the spirit of the devil who wants to destroy.

John 8:44 “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

Satan wants to destroy the peace and the harmony in the church. He wants to cause mayhem. This is not a government agenda organized and constructed by men. It is the ancient spirit of the anti-christ trying to destroy the church.

Good, godly, wholesome, well-intended, white people think there’s no racial stuff going on in the world. They really believe that there is no problem. You can’t sit and pretend this doesn’t exist. You’ve got to love your neighbor on purpose. Cross those cultural and racial boundaries on purpose.

Jesus came to give life—abundantly.

Deception is the devil’s ploy.

One of the main extremes of these doctrines of devils is masquerading itself as black Muslim philosophy. This says the original humans were all black. A scientist was embittered by his banishment to an island created a devil race with blue eyes and white skin and unleashed them on the earth. They were released to torment the black men who lived on the mainland. It took 2000 years for them to follow Moses. They were ordained of God to rule for 6000 years. A man was born half black and half white to unite people. This has changed slightly over the years. The idea is that God’s people need to revolt. Any person who listens to this becomes twisted and violent. (Yakub on Wiki)

The white supremacists believe that the Arian people are the original Jewish people. They believe Jesus was an Arian not a Jew. God is white and the white people are chosen and all other people are to be dominated. Anyone who is not white came from a messed up union between Eve and demons and animals.

Both are lies! This is what Hitler was all about. This thing is the anti-christ spirit and has no place in the church! If you are not careful you will split the church—black and white. That is NOT the will of God. It is the will of God for us to first be called Christians in Antioch.

On the Day of Pentecost, God’s Spirit was poured out on ALL Flesh!

‘Go into ALL the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’

Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

1 John 4:20-21 “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”

Jesus is still the answer. To argue that God elevates one race above another ignores what Jesus taught.

Acts 17:26 “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;”

Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Colossians 3:11 “Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.”

The Jews weren’t even supposed to eat with people who weren’t Jews. That was one of the reasons Jesus was rejected.

Mat 27:32 “And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.”

Simon was black, from Cyrene (Libya). A black man was the first to touch the blood of Jesus. God saw the hunger of an Ethiopian, a black man, and sent Philip to him. Philip witnessed to him and helped him get baptized in Jesus’ Name and receive the Holy Ghost. (Acts 8:26-40) No racial tensions there! Racial tensions can delay revival.

Simon was called Black. God never separated His followers by race. There are no color lines.

Language may divide simply because of lack of understanding, but it need not cause disunity.

Col 3:9-11 “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.”

Once you’ve been renewed, all divisions are erased. There are no racial differences in heaven.

There is only one race—the Human Race.

They were called Christians first in Antioch—all inclusive.

The early church needed God to take them out of racial tension to really spread the gospel. The racism in their mindset kept the revival from breaking loose. They needed to be pulled out too. We must watch and guard against that same thing. Show grace against racial tension.

Peter ate with the gentiles until James and his group showed up. They believed you had to be circumcised. So, Peter was a hypocrite. It was more than Paul could stomach.

Gal 2:11-14 “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. 12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. 13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. 14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?”

‘Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.’

The book of Nehemiah tells how he wept when he heard about the state of the walls of Jerusalem. ‘We have sinned,’ he told the Lord. He wasn’t a part of what the people of Israel did. Yet, he prayed for the entire nation.

We too, here in America, have sinned.
